Hi there!

If you’ve gotten this far then I’m guessing that like me, you have a love of wildlife, especially the weird and wonderful characters that we often see in nature!

Animals have held a place in my heart since childhood; most of my time was spent feeding birds and searching for wildlife hidden in rockpools on the beach. I value the quiet company of animals, they have an air of serenity about them, which has always helped lift my mood when things get stressful.

Like many others, my mental health declines a lot during the winter months, and I know one of the biggest reasons for this is spending less time in nature. This is what inspired me to start painting animals, so that I could bring nature inside!

I am giving away one free print to as many people as possible, so that you too can invite nature inside and experience the presence of these beautiful animals from the comfort (and warmth!) of your own home.

The Marine Collection

This collection of paintings was inspired by my love for the ocean and the beautiful animals that inhabit it.

As a child I spent every summer at the coastal town of Portrush with my family. Going back there and smelling the fresh sea air always reminds me of my childhood where I spent most of my time on the beach searching for tiny creatures in the rockpools.

I have always found marine animals so calming to look at. Their appearance at times seems almost otherworldly, adapted to an environment so vastly different to the land we live on.

Why am I giving my art away?

I have been a full time artist for almost one year now, and this is a great way to get my name out there and get my art into people's homes.

I am a firm believer that everyone should have access to beautiful, uplifting artwork regardless of their budget, which is why I'm giving this collection away for free, for a limited time!

About Sara

Sara McKnight is a self-taught artist based in Belfast, Northern Ireland who specialises in watercolour, pastel, and ink. Her passion and drive comes from a connection she has had with animals from a young age.

Sara draws the viewers attention by translating the personality and spark she sees in animals to paper, to inspire others to view animals as complex, sentient individuals, deserving of our care and protection.

To minimise the carbon footprint of her business, Sara prints each order individually in her home studio to reduce waste, and all prints are packaged in 100% compostable cellophane bags.

In her free time Sara enjoys catching up with friends and relaxing with her dog Luna and her four cats, Gizmo , Archie, Pandora and Tom Jones.
